So..there’s this blogging game going around where you get “tagged” by another person.. and I was tagged by my friend Amanda and now I have to say 6 quirky things about myself. Well, I don’t find myself doing very peculiar things - although, I’m sure others do!!! infact, I’m probably one of the most boring people around…. so coming up with 6 was very hard!!!
1. I dont like when cupboard doors, like in a kitchen, are open. If someone leaves them open - and say, I’m in another room, I’ve got to go close them..
2. I have to sleep with a fan on at night. Even in a hotel room, I’ll turn the ac/fan or bathroom fan or some kind of “fan” noise on. No fan = bad/no sleep night
3. I eat peanut butter at least once a day. somehow, on fruit, bread, straight out of jar.. in a box, with a fox…
4. I hate my nails painted - they feel “heavy” - cant describe it…but it just feels weird to me.
5. I never take my necklace off. My oldest son gave me the necklace as a gift when he was little - his first gift he actually picked out and my youngest son has teeth marks on it (its a heart) and i never ever take it off. thus, i never wear any other necklaces.
6. I have a horrible memory. You could tell me your name and 5 minutes late -yep, its gone. I have to write EVERYTHING down, or do the repeat game in my head (you know the one where you repeat it like, 20 times in a row)… thankfully I have best friend who I call all the time and say - who was the girl who had blonde hair - and she says oh ya, her name was Bridget! hahaha!!
WHHEW! ok - that was fun!
I’m going to tag:
Michelle
and Sheri
and Pam
and a picture!!
it was prom night over the weekend!

I was on a roll with my blog and then lost it! I’ve got some catching up to do! I’ve been doing a little commercial work lately and trying to get my studio fixed up and of course the weather is getting nice! (are April showers finally over!!??!) so its hard to blog sometimes!
I just got ahold of some of these and sent it one over to my friend Michelle - it was an ad that ran over the holidays, but this one had her daughter in it!

THANK you all for the kind compliments on the photo of my boys - YES - I do have a huge canvas of it on my wall. That was taken over 2 years ago, and every year, on that same day, i’ve tried to “reproduce” it - with no such luck. It was just one of the lucky moments I guess… and I’m glad I got lucky that day - because it really is one of my faves. They grow up too quick.
Also, I get alot of emails about what camera I use. I use alot of different Nikon cameras. My main camera is a Nikon D3, however I use various ones for different projects. I’ll try to list what camera I use in the posts.

I’m so proud of my oldest as he finished up his finals week of college this week. His first year under his belt …he’s had a rough week, finishing it up with an unfortunate broken nose. I’m so pleased with his maturity this last year and I couldn’t have ask for 2 better kids.
An old pic, but one of my all time faves.

I’m forever messing with things. I decided I was tired of the red flowery thingy in the background of my blog. I never actually really liked it in the first place - but, well.. anyway it was there. So I thought - how hard could it be to make it just a solid pretty color?? haha - thus why I’m not a blog installer, computer programmer, or any such sort. I’ve completely made a mess of things of the “back end” and now I fear am going to have to call in a professional to clean up my mess. I’m also trying to get some sort of photo gallery/album thingy going on - ya, right. Again, got that all screwy. I’m actually surprised I can even make a post today.
FIND MY HAPPY PLACE…..

3 good things for Thursday:

I’ve been thinking alot lately about style, influence of style and familiarity. I’ve been looking back at my old work and wondering what it is that makes me recognizable, familiar, set apart. The more I looked the more I became less familiar with it. What I did find was I like the unknown. It makes things more unexpected. However, as I was sitting outside with my son watching him play in his sandbox, which has become an evening ritual… I watched him and saw the same thing I see everynight.. OR DID IT??

The dandelions are coming out and we walked through the yard, picking them today.. made me think of a photo I took years ago.. so I dug it up. THis was taken 2 year to the day.. FAMILIAR?? hmmm.. what is familiar may not be if you just look at thing differently.

3 Happy Things.
1. Walking barefoot through the fresh grass
2. Ikea (gosh, I love that store)
3. Lost is on tonight.

We scoured the neighborhood, skipping down the street, jump roping here and there, for the yard with the greenest grass. It is still just Spring here in PA, after all..and not all the green is in yet. We found a beautiful one..and decided to take a nice little rest. Why do I photograph children? What other “job” allows you to lay in neighbors green grasses on your belly on a warm spring day, taking photographs of little toothless laughing girls. It allows me for - in those hours - to really feel life in the uninhibited way they do.. I cant imagine doing anything else…
