winter

by Kathy Wolfe ~ January 27, 2008

Winter is hard for photographers. Especially when you live in the Northeastern States, like Pennsylvania. You never know what you are going to wake up and get. Sunny? cloudy? is the house going to provide enough natural light? Its all part of dealing with on- location work - and something that I LOVE!! I had a friend from Canada come to Pittsburgh a few months ago and ask if when she returned could “follow” me around to a few sessions - which gave me the idea of offering such a “hands on” type thing… would this be of interest to anyone else? I’m just throwing this idea out there initially to see if there is any interest… if so, email me. If there is enough interest, I may (heavy on the MAY!!!) consider it. (or maybe I’m just having a weak moment right now..)
Anyway, this little girl was one of my first sessions back after the new year. She was just a joy to work with- and made my job so easy!

OH! and I had the layout of my blog changed a bit -thanks to NATE at Refueled- I wasn’t liking a few things about the original layout and he was so awesome in helping getting a few things changed for me! Thanks Nate!

It’s OK we all have these moments! Although a very original idea! I am about to open my own on-site business, here in Charleston, WV, I def. understand the natural light issue. WV isn’t ready for her close up in the winter months either. I would love to just be a fly on the wall and witness what happens with real pros on site. If perhaps you just had a moment, I am open to follow or meet with any other women photographer who has left messages! Sorry men! Us chicks have to stick together!

Wow, I love these. They are really inspiring to me because I am going through the same thing. Dreary cold weather here, and it makes things hard. You would never know if though with these images. So light, colorful and full of life!

  15. Joyce Says:

Yes! I have totally been saying this for awhile now. LOL! I think it would be great to take folks on tours of REAL houses–some quite cave-like ;)–and show them what we really do, rather than shooting models outside! We are in sync, KW. : )

  16. PamN Says:

    Can I come too? :)

  17. Beth Says:
